I'm procrastinating right now. I should be working on our pitch deck for our new startup I mentioned in previous posts but I'm sitting here having a mini panic attack instead. I thought I'd write.
Let's play catch up. I wrapped up March with one of my last big flower jobs so as to transition into focusing on my new start up. Over the last month, I've re-vamped my website to showcase my photography work, split into Commercial and Weddings, since this is what is sustaining me as our company gets off the ground. As it goes, I spent countless hours designing and redesigning my sites, sending to numerous friends to critique and give feedback. I've changed my Instagram to just be for my photography. I even hired Harper Maven Design to create some new branding for me...I'm pretty excited about my new logo:
Additionally, over the last few weeks, I've flown to SF for a shoot with PlayStation, LA to shoot the promo commercial video for our new company, and NOLA for Collision Conference with my partners at my new startup. SF was one long day of shooting, two trips to Mr. Holmes BakeHouse, and three meals of tacos. Solid. LA was packed with beach time, wine tasting time, hang times with my good friend Sarah, and one INCREDIBLY long shoot through the night that had me leaving straight from wrap to LAX for my 6am flight back to NYC. It's been awhile since I've missed an entire night of sleep...definitely too old for that. NOLA was four days of listening to other startups pitch and successful people talk, three nights of demoing our new App on the streets of New Orleans, two trips to Cafe Du Monde for beignets, and one rained out Jazzfest. Oh, and NOLA is not for vegetarians. By night six...the things I would have done for Sweet Green. I feel I must also mention SnapChat. Through these last three trips, I've become a big Snapchatter....is that what the kids are calling us? Follow me: @mheezie (NOTE: I joined Snapchat about four years ago...that's right...early adopter over here. Apparently, four years ago I thought "mheezie" was a good username...here we are now, and Snapchat is actually a "thing" and I can't change my username...)
So, now I'm here. It's 3pm and I'm three cups of tea in. I'm on top of some very crucial deadlines, which of course, like with all App development, are delayed, and writing a pitch deck, which, it is an understatement to say, is a daunting task. There is light at the end though...pun intended for all those who know about my App. There is. Just a little bit longer and soon, the mobile photography game will never be the same again. Stay tuned.
